Forklift licence

A forklift licence is a high risk work licence, class LF, issued by your state regulator and recognised nationally. There are two costs: a training course, roughly $350 regional to $750 inner-city, and a separate regulator fee. The licence runs five years, and the assessment usually must be lodged within 60 days.

Each state runs its own scheme, with its own name, its own authority and its own fee. What you hold in one state is often no use in another.

There are two costs, not one
The training course, then a separate government licence fee You pay a registered training organisation to train and assess you, and then your state regulator to issue the licence. Course prices vary enormously by location, roughly $350 in regional areas to around $750 in inner Sydney or Melbourne. The regulator fee is separate and much smaller. Not yet checked

We know which body issues it in these states and what it is called there, but we have not yet read the fee and the rules at the source. Rather than copy a number from another website, these pages say what we know and link you to the authority.

Keeping track of it

This is one card. Most people carry four or five, each renewing on a different clock, and lose a shift when one quietly lapses. Work out which of yours runs out first, or register and we track every date and chase you before any of them turn red.
