The tickets you need, and what they actually cost
Almost every job in Australia needs a card, a clearance or a certificate before you can start. They are issued by different bodies in every state, they cost different amounts, and most of them quietly run out.
Every figure here is checked at the issuing authority and stamped with the date we checked it. Where we have not checked something yet, the page says so instead of guessing.
-
National Police Check
A criminal history check almost every employer asks for. One national system, but you apply through your own state and the price is different in each.
-
White Card
The construction induction card. You cannot set foot on a construction site in Australia without one, and almost nobody realises it can lapse.
-
Working With Children Check
Eight states, eight different schemes, eight different names. Queensland calls it a Blue Card. What you hold in one state is usually no use in another.
-
First aid and CPR
Nationally recognised, so it works in every state. The catch is that the two halves renew on different clocks and the CPR one is the one people forget.
-
Forklift licence
A high risk work licence, class LF. Issued by your state regulator, recognised nationally, and renewed on a cycle most people only discover when it lapses.
-
Responsible Service of Alcohol
Required before you can pour a drink for money. Every state runs its own version and a few of them will not accept anyone else’s.
Why this exists
The information is out there, spread across eight state governments and a few hundred training companies who would rather sell you a course than tell you whether you need one. Almost none of it says when it was last checked.
We keep these because we hold them for people. Register once and your clearances, tickets and certificates sit in one place with every date tracked, and we chase you before one lapses. Join the pool.
Covered so far
6 credentials across 8 states and territories, covering roughly 146k searches a month. More as each one is checked at source.
